30 pupils from the Lower School Choir were lucky enough to be invited to sing at the Gordon Craig Theatre in Stevenage on Sunday 6th November at a convert organised by Potton’s Phoenix Chorus. They are one of the top women’s barbershop choruses in the UK – a 70-strong award-winning A Cappella group who only last year at a competition in Las Vegas were placed 20th in the world.
Led by Miss Coppenhall, the children sang their favourite songs including Mr Owl and Down by the Bay to a packed theatre and received rapturous applause after each! This was the choir’s biggest venue yet and is a stepping stone for performances first at the switch-on of Potton Christmas lights and then January sees them perform at the 16-000 seater Genting Arena (formerly the NEA) in Birmingham.
Well done children and Miss Coppenhall!
