It has been a colourful time in science this half term. Year 7 have been studying acids and bases. This week students have been looking at neutralising an acid with an alkali using universal indicator to show them when the solution became neutral. They were all very methodical and showed a lot of concentration and patience.
Year 8 have been looking at the lifecycle of a flowering plant. Students dissected flowers and bean seeds and planted the leftover beans in little pots. Many have germinated and are growing fast. At the end of this week, Year 8 will have the choice to either take their broad and runner bean plants home or plant them in the raised bed at school.
